Berkefeld/Doulton Ceramic Cartridges for Emergency Relief

Following the Asian Tidal Wave Disaster we've donated our entire stock of Ceramic Sterasyl and Supersterasyl cartridges to help the relief effort. We don't currently have any available for non-humanitarian use. All other products are available as normal.

Following the devastating Asia Tsunami Earthquake disaster we're doing everything we can to help, focusing on what we know best - providing safe clean drinking water.

Latest news:
The first batch of ceramic gravity filters have been donated via a group of sri lankan buddhist monks who are sending aid by air cargo directly to the worst affected areas of Sri Lanka where the big international aid agencies haven't get reached. Our filters will be in use within a couple of days providing clean safe drinking water to over 500 people. We'll continue to liase with people in the area who can make sure our filters are used effectively for the benefit of as many people as possible.

This is aid at a grass roots level - bypassing much of the overstretched infrastructure, possible delays, waste and red tape. Once we get some feedback and know which areas and organisations are calling for more equipment, we can launch a full scale appeal for donations of both equipment and money from the public and from within the water systems industry. If you'd like to help please get in touch.

Let's make sure what we do is effective:
We're already hearing from some NGOs that certain aid is being over supplied to some areas, especially clothing. However there are still milllions in desperate need. That's why our help must be targeted. The right equipment with the right information on it's use, in the right place at the right time saves lives.

If you haven't already done so, please make a donation to the offficial Aid Agencies through the DAC website. Beware of spoof sites trying to get your card details - it's bound to happen soon.
