Cartridges for American style fridge freezers come in two types:

Internal: These fit inside the fridge compartment, or in the grille at the base. With internal cartridges you normally need to buy the manufacturers original cartridge as the fitting will be "keyed" by the manufacturer to allow only the genuine cartridge to fit. We have the widest range in the UK and specialise in the unusual and obscure.

External: These fit on the outside of your fridge. Some fit into a keyed filter head similar to the internal type, whilst others could be described as "in-line" cartridges. It's tempting to think that all in-line cartridges are similar and are interchangable, but there is a huge variance in filter media, flow rate, capacity and price. Ours range from about £8 to nearly £180!!!!. We design and recommend specific in-line cartridges for certain models of appliance after exhaustive research and testing to ensure you get the quality and performance you expect. An incorrectly specified cartridge could cause leaks, poor taste, water hammer, or incorrect operation of the glass filler bar on your fridge.
