Water Softener Installers Turn Edwardian – all in a good cause!

The team from Lincoln based water softener experts, Greens Water Systems will be turning back the clock 100 years on Saturday 1st October to bring a touch of Edwardian opulence to the city – and all in a good cause. Staff will be on hand to demonstrate and explain their collection of vintage water treatment equipment from the last 100 years. They will don authentic outfits typical of the era and be on hand to explain the various methods employed to filter and soften water over the decades.

The event in Castle Square is to support the wider celebrations in the city, marking a century of safe water in Lincoln and the connection of the "new water" supply from the Nottinghamshire village of Elkesley a century ago.

Anglian Water, Lincoln Rotary Club and other sponsors have organised a series of truly unique events offering fantastic insights into the city's water infrastructure, with displays explaining the story of Lincoln's water supply past and present.

Jeremy Heath, Managing Director of Greens Water Systems explains, “The day is to celebrate the safe supply of quality mains water to Lincoln's population over the last century and the great engineering achievement that has led to essentially the original scheme still working as intended 100 years later”.

The main focus of the Lincoln Water 100 event is to raise as much money as possible for WaterAid who do amazing work overseas in areas where safe drinking water is still a distant dream.

Come and see us during the day, and visit the Lincoln Water 100 Centenary events at Westgate Water Tower, The Museum of Lincolnshire Life and The Arboretum and more importantly, please give generously to WaterAid and help eradicate water-borne disease around the world.
